The Nova Effect

We all have witnessed the moments when we say whatever happens happens for good. Though if something bad happens we crib about the situation and complain Why me?

What is Nova Effect?

But your every perception of bad luck may sometimes turn to be the good one and vice versa. Just think about a moment wherein you were complaining. Now you realize that you have something far better than what you were complaining about and this is the Nova effect.

To explain the nature of the Nova Effect there’s a profound short animated tale by The Pursuit of Wonder.

Story to explain Nova Effect

The short animated fictional tale tells a story of a man named Eric. Eric lost his dog Nova to a taunting rabbit while they were on a walk. Eric feels devasted for the loss of his dog.

He tries every possible way to find his dog. He asked his neighbors, had put posters displaying his dog missing and after a few days, a lovely woman Vanessa brought Nova back. Eric and Vanessa began catching up and later fell for each other eventually became a beautiful couple.

One day Eric was on a way to pick Venessa, he went in a car accident. He was taken to the hospital and underwent a CT scan. The doctor told Eric — he didn’t suffer any serious injury from the crash, but they did find a tumor in his brain. Since the tumor was in its early stage it was easily removed; which wouldn’t have been located until the fatal stage without the CT scan caused by accident.

This made Eric go through two different emotions, one knowing he has suffered a car accident and now he is discovered with a Tumor. But as the doctor explained to him that the Tumor was in begnin state and can be taken out easily without any complication it made him feel relieved.

This simple story demonstrates that whatever bad happened with Eric was eventually a stroke of good luck for him. It shows the incredibly random nature of luck.

As Alan Watts once mentioned that it is not possible to determine the outcome of any situation unless we realize its effect on ourselves until the future is fully realized.

Maybe the whole process of nature is an integrated process of immense complexity and it is really impossible to tell whether anything that happens in it is good or bad because you never know what will be the consequences of the misfortune or you never know what will be the consequences of good fortune.

What do we learn From The Nova Effect?

The Nova effect also teaches us the importance of developing a positive outlook for situations and this what we aim at PosiArc that having a positive mindset will lead you with more fortune and good opportunities.

At the moment where you are putting all your efforts, you might be not getting good results out of it as expected,  but the events which look like bad luck might actually be profound good luck which might change our very course of life.

Always hope for the best things, look for positive in people and circumstances, and viewing every moment of life as an opportunity to grow and succeed will help you sail through these unpredictable, complex, and random events of life and believe not you every harsh phase is meant to make you weak, it may turn out to be the best ones sometimes.

As Dalai Lama says: “Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck”
