Productivity in every task is what people aim for. Here are 14 tips mentioned to be the most productive version of you.

DO IT NOW – When you understand that something is important enough to be done, do it Now. Don’t postpone it for tomorrow as that tomorrow will never come OR for the time when the sun will rise in the east and temperature will be 21 degrees C, and there would be sunlight, and it would be a Tuesday of June, and there would be 20 cats and 22 dogs in your park, and …. (you get the point!)

DECIDE WISELY and QUICKLY – Today’s decisions form tomorrow’s realities. So, decide wisely. You must analyze to the extent that is necessary but don’t let the analysis drag endlessly. There comes a time when you have to make a decision. Do it then. Don’t be a proponent of “Analysis Paralysis”

PLAN BUT DON’T OVERPLAN – Most people have this habit to start planning for something that they deem worthy to be done. When they plan, it gives them the necessary ‘Dopamine’ in the thought that they are doing something valuable towards the cause. They indulge in doing this over and over again because their brain tells that they are on the right path. But the reality is that their brain is tricking them into still being away from change while advocating for it at the same time. A little ‘Action’ is a thousand times better than planning.

Common Knowledge: 20% time invested in good planning will save you 80% trouble later. Extension of the knowledge: 80% time spent in wishful planning will give you less than 20% of the desired result.

MANAGE TIMING – Timing is everything. The best moves or decisions or actions taken at the wrong time will not yield good results. So, manage your timing effectively. Bring the hammer when the iron is hot.

FORM HABITS – If something is worth doing over and over again, develop it as a Habit. Researches disagree on the number of days for a habit to form – it ranges from 21 days to 66 days – but when a habit is formed, you will know it as you will start doing it effortlessly. My personal experience has been to do the same thing for 3-4 weeks and then it becomes a habit. Once it becomes a habit, it will die hard and you’ll reap the benefits of that habit for a long time.

BEAT DISTRACTIONS – There are multiple avenues that try to steal our attention – mobile phones, TV, songs, news, etc. Focus on what helps you in your goal and remove other distractions from your life.

For example. Your mind will always give you reasons why you can’t live without your phone – I need it to study online courses. I need it to book cabs. I need it to order gifts. I need it to order dinner etc. etc. When this happens, Control your mind. We hardly use the phone for such purposes a fraction of the time. When needed the phone can still be used for such purposes by unlocking/reinstalling the needed apps. Let the phone still be your device, not your Master.

ENJOY THE JOURNEY – When it is going good, enjoy it!!! When it is tough, enjoy it!!! Nothing worth having is easy; and if it feels tough, you will enjoy that success a lot more.

MANAGE SURROUNDINGS – Be friends with people who are better than you. You will learn. Throw out negative forces from your life. These could be anyone and anything. Identify those aspects of your life (devices, relationships, associations, etc. ) that suck the positive energy out of you and throw them away.

SPEAK LESS, BUT MORE – Speak when you truly know and understand what you’re speaking. You can say a lot in fewer words when you’re knowledgeable about a subject. And you can still blabber endlessly when you lack in knowledge. The thing is – other people figure out soon when you are speaking and when you’re Blabbering. They might not say it at your face but they know. Trust me – they know.

EARS OPEN, EYES OPEN – Keep your ears and eyes open to receive good knowledge. It is flowing in the universe and you never know from which corner and through whom you may get a really useful knowledge

VALUE TIME – Time is infinitely more valuable than money. Between Time and Money, always choose Time, because one day you will definitely run out of time. The same can’t be said about money though. You will always have enough money to satisfy your needs. You will never have enough money to satisfy your desires.

FOCUS – When working on a plan/project/task/problem, Focus. There is no greater power than the power of a focused mind. It has solved impossible-looking problems for humanity. Likewise, there is no lesser power than a flickering mind. While a flickering mind may still produce lesser results, the opportunity costs are too high to ignore.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF – When your mind tells you that you can’t do something or that it is too hard, Challenge yourself. There is no sweeter victory than victory over self. Any person experiences the greatest high when he breaks his own limits.

GET POSITIVELY ADDICTED – Addictions are bad. But when channeled properly, an addiction can have a tremendous positive influence on one’s life. Get addicted to something useful – e.g. Breaking your own limits, Realizing your true potential, Working on your body/mind, or anything that you deem positively worthy for your life
