Man who escaped his death – Alexei Navalny

All of us have heard interesting stories in movies on how a person who is planned to killed escaped his death several times. But it is not likely to happen in the real world.  But the story of Alexei Navalny is no less than that of a superhero who is on a mission to save his country from allegedly corruption by President Putin of Russia.

 For that let us know a little about Alexei Navalny who is also nominated for Nobel Peace Prize this year along with Greta Thunberg.

Who is Alexei Navalny

Alexei Navalny is of Russian and Ukrainian descent. He was born on 4 June 1976 at ButynOdintsovsky DistrictMoscow Oblast, He spent his early childhood days in Ukraine and for his college studies, he moved to Moscow Russia and graduated with a law degree from the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia in 1998.

Later he studied securities and exchanges at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

Political Career

Alexi Navalny joined the party Yabloko in 2000 which was his first sign of entering into Politics.

On 23 June 2007, Navalny co-founded a new political movement, simply named “The People”, which upheld the positions of “democratic nationalism”, defined as a fight for democracy and the rights of ethnic Russians.

He became famous for his anti-corruption foundation. In May 2011, Navalny launched RosYama (literally “Russian Hole”), a project that allowed individuals to report potholes and track government responses to complaints.

Ran for Presidential Election

On 13 December 2016 Navalny announced his entry into the presidential race but he was arrested for fraud regarding Timber, which was put on him by Russian Government and this led him to take down his candidature from President’s election.

On 8 February 2017, the Leninsky district court of Kirov repeated its sentence of 2013 (which was previously annulled after the decision of ECHR, which ruled that Russia had violated Navalny’s right to a fair trial, and charged him with a five-year suspended sentence.

It is believed that Russia is just playing in name of democracy since everything Russia is controlled by the government and President Putin is controlling it all. To fight against this injustice Mr. Navalny have comeout to be a superhero of his county.

Alexei Navalny was Poisoned

He was tried to be killed three times and the most recent one was On 20 August, Navalny’s spokesperson announced that after drinking tea while in an airport, the activist became violently ill during a flight. The plane made an emergency landing and he was rushed to a hospital in Germany.

Navalny was taken out of the coma, less than three weeks later. The German government said labs in France and Sweden both confirmed that Navalny had been poisoned with the Soviet-era nerve agent Novichok.

Further investigation confirmed that the poison was put in his underwear which led to his poisoning. It was after this hospital recovery he returned to Russia, which led to his arrest from the flight and he Live telecasted his arrest.

Without fearing for his death he came back to his country and ask his supporters to come out and fight for their rights and against the corruption happening in their country.

Before this, he was attacked by a chemical on his face called zelyonka which is a brilliant green dye in 2017 in the Siberian city of Barnaul, which almost blinded him and he had to go for eye surgery in Spain after Russian authorities issued him a passport for the first time in five years.

He was poisoned once after which he complained about harsh rashes on his body and was taken to the hospital. Apart from that his wife Yulia Navalnaya was also once poisoned.

This all has led to severe protests in Russia supporting Alexei Navalny and around more than 3000 people have been detained.

His own Investigation exposing corruption in Russia

The most interesting thing is that all of this investigation which Mr. Navalny conducted to expose the Putin Corruption is available on YouTube, he is a blogger with 6M followers and his current video which went viral has more than 100 million views in which he is seen exposing Putin’s 1 billion hidden palace with full of luxury.

In one of his videos, he is also seen exposing his assassin who tried to poison him. Isn’t this sounding filmy story of a spy.

It is all of his activist movement which led to his arrest and people are protesting for his release.
