Becoming Better – The Secret Ingredient.

If you ask the average person what is their purpose in life, you will get a funny response like – “Gee, I dunno”. What if I asked you? What would you say? The average person can’t articulate their life purpose, the evoking interest to answer ‘what this day holds for me ’ that drives them to wake up every day and do whatever it takes to fulfill their mission in life lacks. Instead, they have compelling questions of- ‘why this day with mundane thoughts prevails’. They don’t want to become a better version of themselves.

The average person takes life one day at a time and has no higher purpose beyond merely surviving. Most people just focus on getting through the day, taking the of path resistance, and pursuing short-term, short-lived pleasure along the way, while avoiding any pain or discomfort that might cause them to grow.

cause of your mediocrity?

You need a life purpose to defeat the cause of your mediocrity in you. Don’t ever feel you will not achieve what you desire,  you will have to be willing to give your purpose a legit amount of time, value, and hard work. You don’t have a genie in life who will get done everything for you on just one command.

Having a Purpose in life teaches you all the vital skills required to grow your personality and the people around you with substance. Thought with action, dedication,  diligence, and painstaking submission for your purpose will yield results. Once you reach the goal of your better version and purpose, your personality encounters several good changes in you. You become adulate, have a sense of accountability, leadership quality, and a positive approach towards life.

What is your Purpose?

Your purpose can be anything, you may have more than one purpose. Maybe you are Doctor, but you aspire to be a Dancer, that might be your Purpose. You may be in some Multi-National Company doing well but secretly want your own business setup or your purpose is to serve or motivate others. It could be anything as big as Mountain or as small as a Pebble.

I am sure everyone has heard about Jeff Bezos and his achievements. If he lacked his purpose in life he wouldn’t have left his lucrative career in finance at D.E Shaws and would have been part of the crowd. As he found his purpose in life, he became the world’s richest person. Everyone knows him and his brand Amazon. He took the risk, believed in himself, and didn’t give up on his dream.

No pain no gain

People should listen to their inner voice and should do what it says because If they don’t do that, they might get stuck in the herd and not fulfill their life purpose.

He worked hard and went through the pain to achieve success as they say “No Pain no Gain”. In his early days at Amazon, he worked around 12-13 hours a day the whole week, with his morning starting at 3 a.m. every day. To become the world’s richest man it takes a real amount of vision, plan of action, dedication, and patience. He started Amazon in his garage in 1994 and from there he never stopped.

Jack Ma the owner and Co-founder of Alibaba has a story of from rags to riches. He had a vision of bringing internet reform in China after he came back from The USA.

His story of rejection is what teaches us –not to give up on our Purpose, no matter how many times you fail. He works 12 hours a day to be one of the richest men. In one of the speeches he mentioned “once in life, try something. Work hard at something. Try to change. Nothing bad can happen.” To get out of that mediocrity chore do something exceptional and worth remembering.

Keep in mind

You may get struck by your purpose at any point in your life. As you grow and evolve, so will your Purpose to become better of yourself. What is important is that you should have a purpose, and start living by it. In the best selling book The Rhythm Of  Life,

Matthew Kelly enlightens us to a universal purpose that I believe we should all live by – “to become the best version of ourselves”. In other words focus on growing and being the best you can be, pursuing your dreams, and inspiring others to do so.

When you have a purpose, you are committed to it and all the problems you face while you are on the path to achieving it, your problems will be insignificant and you will overcome them with ease, and become a better version of yourself if you are willing to.
