Shun the easy, choose tough

We have been nurtured in a way that our decisions are always inclined towards the easy decision in life. Whether that easy be right or wrong, nobody cares. Though taking the easy way may be a short term Band-Aid, but in the long run, it will catch up to you. So Shun the easy, choose tough

Think of yourself who reached home after the deadline ends. When your parents confronted you can either admit the real reason for you being late or you could just say that you got stuck in traffic quite late, you will have chances to get the permission of going out, but once you admit that you were late because you crashed many parties which is hard to tell to your parents, chances are a curfew being set for your for months. When confronted he can either own up to cheating (harder), or he can deny it (easy). If you own up to it definitely you will be in trouble.

If choosing the easy way out doesn’t harm you, what is wrong with it? The answer is nothing. In fact, the easy way out is probably the better decision to make, that is why most people choose that route but do they Succeed in life or just remain average opportunist.

Here are reasons mentioned why you should choose hard ways to get success in life:

  • Set yourself apart from everyone else.

Learn from your mistakes and move on. The truth is, those mistakes are almost always caused by choosing the easier and most appealing of two decisions. I can’t agree more with the necessity to make quick, yet well thought out decisions. Because most people are afraid of challenge and contention, your competition will choose the easy way out. Ultimately choosing the harder route will set you apart from them. If they don’t those the easy way out and you do, they now have a leg up on you. In the short term choosing something more difficult it may put you in a more difficult position, but long term you will always end up better off.

By setting yourself apart you are also making yourself more memorable. This is never a bad thing.

  • Working hard is always in your hand

It doesn’t matter how smart you are, sometimes if you don’t work harder you won’t taste success. In our Indian society, the UPSC exam is considered to be the toughest to crack but often it is also mentioned, that no matter how smart and sharp your brain is if you don’t put in the dedicated amount of hard work you won’t be able to crack it. So it is in our hands to work hard and change our fate. Simply put, more often than the competition I will choose the harder of two options, the option THEY DIDN’T CHOOSE, knowing that I can always work harder if that is what it will take to succeed.

“there may be people who have more talent than you, but there is no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do.”

  • When nobody believes you, its time to prove others wrong:

Every time you choose the hard route or create doubt people around will question you. They will have doubt that you won’t succeed. This should motivate you, when nobody believes in what you are doing is worth praising, believe in yourself. This will motivate you to prove everyone wrong around you and create your own mark.

Next time you are facing a tough decision, choose the harder option, let everyone doubt you, you will emerge out with success. Remember Shun the easy, choose tough
