What is Bare Minimum Approach
Not putting much effort into doing your work that you are capable of. Also sometimes Bare Minium is used for living a simple life without much of a facade.
In this article, we will talk about how your life becomes mediocre if you have a bare minimum approach towards life and not being ambitious enough to achieve your goals.
So, consider this a san example, One not so fine day you visited a doctor because you weren’t feeling well. You know that your disease is serious but the doctor treats you with his bare minimum approach. As a result, your confidence in him goes down, and will probably not visit him again.
Let’s take some additional examples.
- We want teachers to impart the best knowledge to, even more than their capabilities.
- We want our Electrician to do his best while fixing just a simple fan.
- Another is most people’s favorite one – Girls’ desire to have the Instagram models’ figure by merely cutting their sugar intake for a month. That is certainly not possible if you are overweight. You may lose little inches but not the model-type physique you desired. Your minimum effort gave you a minimalistic result.
This is a human tendency – we want everyone to work to the best of their capabilities. But we fail to follow the same principle for ourselves and carry forward in life with this ‘Bare Minimum’ approach.
While in high school we aim to get admission to the best engineering courses, medical courses, or law courses, etc. We dream of cracking bigger avenues later. The ones who finally make it, definitely know that their hard work landed them in these premiere colleges or jobs. And the ones who failed, they too know the reason for their failure – it’s because they opted for ‘Thumbelina’ sized efforts and expected the result to be big as a ‘Whale’.
In your relationships with your loved ones, value the love and respect you are getting from them. And have a feeling of gratitude. Otherwise, it may take no time for the other person to realize if you are not honest; and again, your minimalistic approach may lead you to the losing end.
You have ‘One Life’. Make It Large.
- Put yourself under Pressure – It is necessary to put one under pressure to learn to cope up with any tough situations if encountered.
- This is your ‘One & Only’ Chance – Don’t try and put forward any excuses for not putting in the best in anything you do. It is rightly said that ‘You can lie to others but not to yourself. DO it now or Regret it Later. YOLO – You Only Live Once.
- Make smaller goals daily – Smaller goals when accomplished cumulatively turn into big results. For students it’s the best advice – try and finish your small chunks daily instead of planning it all for one single day. Achieving smaller milestones will also keep you motivated all along.
Urging for more is a human nature. However, if you are not getting the desired results, you need to reflect whether you are putting in the required efforts or just the bare minimum. Minimalistic attitude will lead you nowhere. You are responsible for getting good or bad results.
It is equally important for you to understand ‘Excess’ should also be avoided. ‘Balance’ is the rightful approach to get shiny steel instead of rust.
If you do Bare Minimum efforts, expect Bare Minimum results. Big results come from Big Efforts. Nothing just happens by happenstance
One Life. Live Boundless.
