AI is a blessing amid crisis.

In the month of March last year, we were struck by the covid-19 pandemic which shook the whole system. People move from their places of work and fled to the place which they find to be the safest place in this universe. “THEIR HOMES”. But as Winston Churchill said, “never let a good crisis go a waste”. Thus AI is a blessing amid crisis.

The businesses, the IT Giants, the conglomerate’s everyone felt the need the same. The companies started to give permission to people to work from their homes so that they can be safe and healthy. The businesses started to look for different ways and solutions wherein they don’t lose their clients as well as keeping the safety of their employees in mind. That’s when they all looked towards a new and upcoming technology which they thought could be their savior “ ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE”.

As the name suggests Artificial intelligence is defined as a collection of technologies that are capable of sensing, thinking, and acting like rational human beings, the most common applications being chatbots, facial recognition, image classification, aggregators, recommendation engines, and targeted marketing. AI has the potential to solve complex problems effectively at scale .

For example when one tries to teach a toddler that “this is an Apple” the toddler doesn’t recognize the shape or the characteristics of an apple he/she has to first look at the apple, feel it, taste it, and then the toddler is able to make a little sense of what is an Apple.

After many tries will the toddler be able to correctly identify that “ This is an Apple”.

One of the ways businesses adopted AI and its applications are the rollout of the COVID vaccine. Researchers relied on this miraculous technology to help save time and resources for finding a cure for the COVID virus. The research of a vaccine for a virus takes years to formulate and to be perfected but with the help of AI, the researchers were able to do it in a matter of months.

The IT Giants and the conglomerates on the other hand used this technology to provide an office-like environment at home whereby the data and all the information of any project are secured and the employees can work with ease on the projects without the mental pressure of data leak making sure that the employees stay in good health as well as the client’s trust remain intact.

This technology is also being used by companies around the world to make sure that if the employees are to be brought back to the office in the “new normal” it can be done with ease so that the chances of transmission of the disease are kept to a minimum.

This technology not only helped the businesses but also helped the general public by boosting up their morale in the time of the pandemic. Remember the time when a trend of “Dalgona Coffee” started on the social media platforms and everyone was busy on how to make it and try this interesting thing and some of us failed in doing so (I am talking about me…. I failed to make it ) well the AI technology also helped us to see videos of people feeling and going through the same thing as we were going through making us remember that we are not alone in this pandemic.

Everything will be alright after all the virus doesn’t know about our secret weapon “ The Artificial Intelligence”
