Time-Lessons from “In Time”

If time becomes money circulating throughout the world, what do you think you will do with your current salary? How long will you make it? Imagine there is a world like that – people can use the time to purchase things or have some other ways to spend it in the form of money. Things that can bring them joy. But once the time runs out it means that death is around the corner. 

Why do people die when they are out of Time? In the movie “In Time”, this is one question that is brought in front of people’s eyes. The protagonist, Will, is poor. He has only one day left and nothing to eat. If he doesn’t work, he’ll die. A beautiful girl is standing in front of him seems like they are the same age but she is his mother. She’s 50 years old. She has three days left, one day left to pay the house fee and other bills.

Who knows the rules of the world. What is the reason that the poor forever remain poor, though they work diligently every single day? The rich guy had many questions about Will’s life What will you do if you had a lot of time with you he asked and Will went to sleep. Waking up on a Monday morning Will realizes he has 100 years from the rich man as he gave him all of his time that he had and then he committed suicide. Those who have lived for too long and had too much time to spare…. life become dull for them. Will prepares to surprise his mother. He wants to take her to the new Greenwich, but the boss increases the number of the year for each ticket, his mother can’t afford it so she had to run back to her home to Will. We see in the movie that there’s something wrong with her so he rushes after her but as soon as he’s about to touch his mother’s hand and intends to give her more time she runs out of it.

Will decides to get revenge on whoever set this rule. He finally arrives in New Greenwich and rents a hotel room. As soon as he gets there he realizes something. Those that have much time don’t need to run because they have the most important thing in the world. So he went to a casino. There’s a big gambling table inside. They are setting a deal of 50 years, Will turns out a lot tougher than them because he came here for revenge to kill this rich guy. He’s not angry at all because he has more than a hundred years. So it doesn’t matter if he loses 50 years. The man who makes these rules is the bank president, he invites will to a real party. He introduces the real his three lovely ladies. They are his wife’s mother, wife, and daughter. They look like sisters this is the world of the rich once you have money, you’ll never get old. They seem like they stopped at 25.

Soon the police storm in, and they arrest Will as they suspect him killing the rich man who gave him his time but he does not want to go down easy so at once he takes Sylvia the president’s daughter as a hostage.
Time is important. It incentives throttles. He holds you and threatened the deal. The rule is the same as wrestling strength and the two are surrounded by the police. But to Will’s surprise, Sylvia was also with Will and she too wanted to take revenge on her father for treating like everyone is beneath him.

This is the life of the poor every day. They have to work so hard They struggle with the short time that they have. Will works at the bank, yesterday he had an extra shift. Will decided to go to a bar to relax, the rich guy of the bar has a hundred years but there were some robbers present there who had malicious intent. Will saves the rich guy.

They hatch a plan to steal a million years and they do it successfully. Sylvia doesn’t know her father has put a locator device on her, and so the father sent police behind Will. Fearing for their lives they give a foolish girl a million years the couple did not want the years for themselves rather they wanted to teach the banker a lesson. The policeman finally catches them but in doing so he overlooks his own time and he finds that he only has one last minute and he dies first. It doesn’t matter whoever you are as long as you waste time, you will die. Eventually, both Will and Sylvia charge their time from the police car so they can continue to leave happily.

So, what’s the lesson in the movie? This movie tells us the importance of time as this movie compares time to money just as we all say ‘Time is Money‘. It more importantly tells us the hidden meaning that one should not waste time. Each and every moment is important. One might never know which moment may be their last.
